GRIPPERS - Never Give Up ! (Punk-Rock - Interview with Ale)

How it all began ?
We are Grippers, punk band from Madrid. We started this project ten years ago, the actual formation is Rachel (vocals & bass), Markos (guitar & back vocals), Félix (drums) and me, Ale (guitar & back vocals).

Describe your sound and explain why I should listen to YOUR band at all cost ?
We cannot describe us in just one style 'cause we have a lot of influences on it : we are into punk, metal, hardcore, rock'n'roll. Our opinion is that, the more influences, the better sound, 'cause you have more composition tools to use.
We don't think that you have to listen to our band at all cost, just do it if you like it and want to. We believe in freedom, in doing and expressing yourself without chains.

Lyrical and musical inspirations/influences ? How important are the lyrics for you ? Are there any specific messages or thoughts you try to develop and share through your lyrics ?
For the lyrics, we try to portrait our life experiences and thoughts on the songs : good and sad stories, social and political criticisms, PMA messages... These ones are the essence of the band, the importance of keeping strong and positive through life difficulties, leaning on your friends, your chosen family, and go ahead with all your energy.
As we said before, the musical influences are very combined, we don't focus on just one style and we are proud of it. We like to go to our rehearsal room and share to each other new bands or songs, catch ideas from everywhere and enjoy at its maximum.

About your last release ? How to get it ?
Our new album is "Complicity Is A Weapon", recorded and mixed by Txus Lozano at Circle Pit Records. The artwork was made by Nanu Nano Art, a great artist that also did lots of works for cool bands, such as Casualites.
the vinyl was released a few weeks ago, you can get it through our website or, of course at our shows.

Future plans ?
Right now, we're on tour, adding more shows to it, we are open for booking, so if you want us to play in your city, contact us ! While we are playing, we are also composing new songs for a future upcoming album, we are always busy.

Your most insane dream with the band would be ?
We dont have an insane dream, we are always living the moment and the most important thing for us is caring for each other, we are a band of friends, our friendship is everything and we don' tneed more (Wise words, I love that ! Ed)
