ÄÄRETÖN KAPINA - Dare to Disrupt ! (Finland - HardCore/Punk - Interview with Repe).
Express interview to help you discover as many of today's most interesting bands as possible - this time, ÄÄRETÖN KAPINA, HardCore/Punk from Finland - Interview with Repe (Guitars).

- Hello ! Can you introduce yourself and tell us how it all began for you ?
Hello, the band was formed in 2012. Ville called me (Repe) to form a new band with our old mate Örkky (RIP) who has played bass in finnish legendary punk band Maho Neitsyt. Then Ville decided to ask his old friend Sievä to sing. He had never sung before but with his theatrical base, he is just the right guy and an incredible singer ! Afterwards Wege joined the band when Örkky left. So permanent line-up is now me, Repe-guitar, Ville-drums, Wege-bass, Sievä-vocals.

- WHY the need to form THIS band ? And what was the idea behind ?
All of us just wanted to create hard and loud music - music you can be proud of. Somebody described us as "raw melodic hardcore" and another one said that he doesn't know what it really is ! Maybe they are both right. Band members have played since the 80's - punk, hard rock, metal, hardcore in many bands like Confusion, PSG, Bad Machine, Raw Deal just name a few. Ville and Wege do most of the lyrics and songs are composed by whole band. Lyrics are often almost ready when we start to arrange the songs. And of course we do some covers during live gigs. In a gig we often play couple of old finnish schlager songs with our own style. Perhaps you can imagine how does it sounds :) (Hmmmm... do you think I really should try this ? haha ! Ed.)

- Main band's musical influences ?
Musical influences come from Hard Rock, Punk, Metal, Hardcore.. Can't say which bands have influenced us most but I think everyone of us love bands like, for example, Motörhead, Exploited, Discharge, Dead Kennedys.. (All "references" in their genre - Ed)

- About your latest releases ?
We released 3 new songs in July. They were recorded and produced by Pekka East at Sound Studios in Helsinki, he's the best producer ever, thanks again to him ! We also recorded 3 songs one year ago with him. We also have a few older demos and live versions and nowadays you can find some live recordings on YouTube. Last year we did a professional music video for the song "Kesä Sörnäisissä" too.

- Future plans ?
We have plans to release a new music video from our new song "Mustaa kultaa" (You can now see it - it's out ! Sorry for the delays in publishing the interview ! Ed.). Also there's some plans to release a cassette. Also, a few gigs are coming next, we'll be at Bar Kultainen Kulaus in Helsinki on September 6th with two other bands (Sorry again, we couldn't publish the interview on time - Ed.) and 16th of October at Hard Rock House in Helsinki.

- Your BEST & WORST concert - as a band - and why ?
Oh well, we are a LIVE band. One of our best gigs was about one year ago at Bar Morris in Helsinki with our friends of DRY HORSE. We have played many gigs together, it's cool because we both have our own audience. The worst gig was in Lahti over ten years ago - too much beer for me - ha !

- Your most insane dream with the band would be ?
We'd love to do also gigs outside Finland - all over the world. In South-America, they like finnish hardcore bands. I'm sure every punk-rocker there know at least one band from Finland !

Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
