THE IDIOTS "Schweineköter" 2019

"Schweineköter" is the new album by THE IDIOTS, a now well-known punk band with a 25-year career behind them ..
Ha, good old days, I remember I discovered them back in 1988 and even got the chance to meet them at their "CEAG" rehearsal room in Dortmund in 1989, it was like I had a private concert just for me hehe.. Since then, this band has always had a special place in my heart - one day fan - fan.... always ! So let's be objective (hmmmm !), this album is GREAT ha !
THE IDIOTS deliver here once again a multi-faceted album, as they have always done in the past, which actually is a characteristic of their musical identity - ranging from Heavy-Metal to Hard-Core/Punk with touches of Garage-Punk-Rock and even Reggae - and always with those unusual yet very varied vocal combinations of singer Hannes, which is definitely special to THE IDIOTS ! This dude REALLY knows how to sing with PASSION & GUTS, give him a listen, he's AMAZING !
So, these are 12 new songs here, the texts are as much in english as in german and tackle current subjects - serious, but also lighter ones - always with a humorous and sarcastic touch... and always with a direct approach.. don't expect them to deliver their messages in a politically correct way, they do it with their balls and the middle finger up !
Musically, even if this album is of great richness & musical variety, the whole is very compact and homogeneous and there's no time for boredom - no fillers, only killers - this album is a remedy to the current gloomy C-19 SHITuation we're all going through... this one's gonna make you feel alive & kicking !
Songs I'd recommend... ??? Tough choice as I sincerely love 'em all.. but ok.. "Bastard" that opens the album, straight in your face & takes no prisoner.. "Dead Heroes" as it is a tribute to all our late musical heroes.. David Bowie, Lemmy, Freddie Mercury, Jeff Hanneman & more.... "Gotteskrieger" for its great variety, kicking ass from the beginning to the end with a very HARD-CORE chorus that hits you like no one... "Plastic".. total old-school Hard-Core-Punk to the bone !
"Punk Rock Queen".. which is a punk love song (so romantisch !!) .. "Fake News" once again in a very old-school vein with the World's biggest clown doing the intro (Yep, that's him.. DONALD ! But no worries, he was NOT invited on this album hehe..)..
So in a word, a STRONG album that i recommend to all punk-rockers, underdogs, beerdrinkers around... Fresh, positive all the way, well-balanced as only THE IDIOTS know how to deliver ! IDIOT BIS ZUM TOD !
