VICIOUS BLADE are a five-piece band hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, USA and this is here their very first release - available as "digital" format as well as now on that good old CASSETTE format ! - Purists will LOVE that eh !
These are 5 songs of insanely tight Hard-Core/Metal/Crust/Punk (with a raw but CLEAR & POWERFUL production !) that blast your brain straight away - this band is definitely taking NO prisoners, this is some of the BEST fast, aggressive, straight-in-your-face crossover thrash with blistering riffs that I have ever heard ! Imagine bands like DETENTE, SENTINEL BEAST, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, SLAYER, DISCHARGE, GBH, MIDNIGHT partying together and you get close to what VICIOUS BLADE sounds like ! In other words, neck-breaking rhythmicals (try NOT to bang your head - ha ! Impossible !), precise & razor-sharped guitar riffs and on the top of all, those impressive vocal combinations of Clarissa Badini - all by turns surly, clear, snarling ... the result is brutal, vicious & ferocious and makes that debut release an essential listen for all into the bands previously named.. Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
